Tamara Benson

With a unique blend of both technical and sales background, Tamara brings to Strategic Biz Dev 25+ years expertise in business development in the U.S. and internationally (Europe, Latin America and Asia), She is a results-oriented business executive with proven success in establishing strategic partnerships and alliances, recruitment and management of third-party channels and partnerships, and development of sales and marketing programs, materials and collateral.

Recently, as an independent consultant, Tamara has assisted multinational companies in producing technical and sales materials and marketing collateral appropriate for the U.S. market. This includes writing of original text as well as translation from Spanish to English of existing materials. Prior to joining SBD, Tamara was recruited by Sabratec Technologies as Manager of Strategic Partnerships to implement a Channels Program for partners to distribute and support Sabratec’s software in the US. Before Sabratec, at Vortecs, Inc. (formerly Independent Telecom, Inc.), as Director of Strategic Partnerships, Tamara negotiated and signed agreements (reseller, systems integration, subcontracting) with vendors such as Avaya, Aspect, IBM, NEC, CosmoCom, PeopleSoft, Genesys, Nortel.

During three years as Isogon Corporation’s Vice President of Alliances. Tamara was responsible for developing and supporting partnering relationships with resellers (IBM, Hitachi Data Systems, Micropath, Mainline, etc.) of Isogon products to the Fortune 1000 market. She also maintained relationships and renegotiate agreements with major hardware vendors (IBM, HP, SGI, and SCO) that embed Isogon’s software into their technology and also negotiated a multi-million dollar joint development agreement with IBM for international project.

At Magna Software Corporation, Tamara held many positions during twelve-year tenure, As Director of International Operations, she was responsible for engaging and supporting international distributors, technical support and consulting organizations to generate sales and services revenue. Tamara also held positions at Thorn EMI Software Services, New York (formerly Evaluation and Planning Systems) and National Data Corporation, New York (formerly Rapidata, Inc.)

Tamara hold an MBA, Administrative Computer Systems from Hofstra University and and B.A. from Clark University.
